Origin and development of Aligarh

             Kal-Eliya village is located in Meerigama Constituency, Gampaha District, Western Province. When the Muslims came and settled here in the 18th century, there was no educational institution for them. People who were interested in education went to foreign places and progressed in many fields, which created educational awareness in Kal-Eliya village. An organization called 'Kal-Eliya Muslim Association' was formed in 1983. Due to the tireless efforts of the members of this association, on May 02 1983 the school was officially opened under the name of 'Kal-Eliya Government Tamil mix School' with Mr. John Steven Fernando from Negambo as the head of the school with a group of 70 students. kept open.

              Over time, the school gradually developed and the students who appeared for the JSC examination in 1952 improved, so SSC classes were started in 1953. In 1957, the name of the school was changed to 'Government Muslim mix School'.

              In the year 1959, the classes for the Muslim Women's Arabic College were started in this school with the support of the school principal and teachers. The education department, who saw the development of the school, upgraded the school to 'Muslim Maha Vidyalaya' from 1st March 1961. After 1965, the school saw rapid growth prison' Changed to .

              In this school, high quality classes were started in arts and commerce sections. After this, the students of nearby village also sought this school for higher education.              Due to the lack of space in the public school of educational progress, not only the government but also the general public of the village, parents, old students and private donors volunteered to help build the buildings. It is also noteworthy that they are still helping...

            In accordance with the need, the buildings for education classrooms were built in 1975, a dormitory for teachers in 1998, a room for computer photography in 2006, a building with a library and a prayer room in 2010, a forest for the science department in 2014, and an activity room for the elementary school in 2019 Office built with the patronage of the country The classroom building was also inaugurated.
